The Theological Plain Of Christianity - 1017 Words
In surveying the theological plain of Christianity regarding the atoning work of Christ, one is made aware of the scope of theories ascribed to it. Many of these theories can be attributed to heresy and rightly denied with a simple cursory look within the pages of Scripture. However, where such ideas can be dismissed, there remain two viewpoints readily opposed to one another in the extent of the atonement which dominates the landscape beyond any national border. Because of these two opposing ideologies, one must take a step back in order to reassert the groundwork in laying the foundation which leads to said viewpoints. Doing so would help in obtaining a correct understanding to be able to bring forth more clarity to a sometimes cloudy debate. As such, the need or necessity of the atonement must be addressed in asking why Christ had to die for man s sin. The answer to this will in turn lend itself in determining the nature of the atonement, which looks at what Christ accomplished on the cross that makes salvation possible. The summation of these will direct the course to what the extent of the atonement asserts, perhaps the major crux or delineation within the Protestant church. Indeed, [t]here are few doctrines which have received such a wide and variegated interpretation as the extent of the atonement, to the point that it becomes so burdened with abstruse terminology that it can be utterly unintelligible, even to those who ostensibly promulgate its virtues. My First Day Of Class Essay - 1144 Words
New Beginnings I walked into high school not knowing what to expect. This year I was able to pick my own schedule, which I mostly filled with easy, effortless classes because only one english credit was needed and seven credit hours to fill. I chose to take a three-hour block class senior year about child development mostly just because my friends were in it. Who does not want class with their friends? The first day of class, we went over the outline for the entire year. First semester was to be completely devoted to learning about how children grow and develop, from zygote to old age. I was okay with this, because I have always been interested in the human body and the way we interact with others. At this point I was excited to learn more. My teacher then told us that second semester we would be spending every class period in a classroom of our choice on our high school campus. This made me feel a bit uneasy. I had never worked with children before and didnââ¬â¢t know if I had the patience or d rive to do so. First semester we were able to visit a few classrooms that interested us to see where we might be placed for second semester. The first day, I went to a second grade classroom and a Kindergarten classroom. These were all very out of my comfort zone. The children were very independent and didnââ¬â¢t seem to have a drive to learn. Most of them just scribbled the answers down and tossed it into the turn-in pile. I wanted them to be excited to learn, not just wish the schoolShow MoreRelatedMy First Day Of Class705 Words à |à 3 Pages Walking into my first day of class, I expected nothing more than a boring lecture and simple assignments that would require little to no effort. Pinkerton by Weezer free essay sample
Released in 1996, Weezers second album ââ¬Å"Pinkertonâ⬠is an emotional and beautiful crafted piece of art. I remember the first time I ever heard a song from Pinkerton by Weezer. I had heard Weezer before and enjoyed some of their more popular tracks like ââ¬Å"Island in the sunâ⬠, ââ¬Å"Say it Ainââ¬â¢t soâ⬠, and ââ¬Å"Feels like Summerâ⬠, but never anything from Pinkerton as it wasnââ¬â¢t a very popular album. I always turn on my radio quietly at night to help me fall asleep, and one night as I was laying in bedââ¬Å"El Scorchoââ¬Å" came on the radio. It was stuck in my head instantly. The chorus kept repeating over and over in my head the next day. After that night I listened to rest of the entire album online. It was brilliant. Catchy guitar riffs and careening vocals pull anyone listening in immediately. It was instantly appealing. The groups sophomore album never reached the fame and sales of the first album, self titled Weezer (The Blue Album), which went platinum within a year of its release. We will write a custom essay sample on Pinkerton by Weezer or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Pinkerton didnââ¬â¢t get much recognition until many years after its release. It was named by Rolling Stone magazine as the #3 worst album of 1997. However, in 2002 it was ranked as the #16greatest album of all time, also by Rolling Stone magazine. ââ¬Å"Pinkertonâ⬠is also regarded by many Weezer fans as their best album, although at the time it was released, it was seen as a failure. Rivers Cuomo pours his heart out in this album. His romantical frustration is the topic of many lyrics. He dropped out of Harvard in 1996 to write Pinkerton. In ââ¬Å" No Other Oneâ⬠, he talks about staying in a toxic relationship, because he thinks there is no one else for him. In other songs, he talks about being rejected by women. ââ¬Å"Pink Triangleâ⬠is about Rivers falling in love with a girl only to find out that she is a lesbian. There is so much emotion and passion in all of the songs on Pinkerton. No other Weezer album has ever felt more personal and deep to so many fans. ââ¬Å"Pinkertonâ⬠is a true work of art. Matt Sharps distorted bass playing makes the songs feel full and complete. The simple but moving guitar makes for unforgettable choruses. The pain described in this album feels very real. Cuomo sings about heartbreak and sadness beautifully sung over fuzzy guitar playing. The musical style is more grungy and gritty than their previous album,â⬠Weezerâ⬠, which featured a pop rock feel. ââ¬Å"Pinkertonâ⬠is Weezerââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"In Uteroâ⬠. While initially seeming like a career ending failure, Pinkerton eventually got the recognition it deserved when it was re-released in 2010. It is now considered to be one of the greatest albums ever written, and is easily one of the best Weezer albums. This album is a work of art and contains so much emotion. Catchy choruses leave songs stuck in heads for days. Distorted guitars and simple drums hold them together. This album appeals to so many people; especially anyone who likes pop, rock, or just enjoys music at all. I would definitely recommend listening.

Their girl and son-in-law adopted a seven-year-old male child named Joey and their invitation read ; ? a kid makes love stronger, yearss shorter, darks longer, the place happier, the past forgotten and the hereafter worth populating. ? We were so happy to be a portion of this jubilation. We knew first manus how elated Tom and Linda were in eventually holding a kid and we besides knew what they went through to acquire him. He seemed like he? s been at that place everlastingly, I was amazed at how fond he was with people he was seeing for the first clip. After opening all of his nowadayss, he gave every individual individual there a large clinch and a thank you, ate a immense piece of bar, so off to play with his new household and friends! In sing with our friends we learned about David? s history and how it has affected him. The one thing that stands out is his fright of being abandoned. Even though he is running about holding a great clip, he is ever doing certain Tom and Linda are still at that place. This fright is something both households are determined to slowly erase from Joey? s head. From what I could see the whole household is away to a great start! As we were driving place I asked Megan what she thought of the whole thing and of class she was sort of board, but she said she was happy for both the parents and particularly David. She had besides heard about his yesteryear and felt sorry for him, wishing he had been adopted at birth like she was. When we got home she wanted to travel through her babe book once more, she loves hearing the narratives behind the images and I love stating them. We talked about what was perchance traveling on in David? s small head? . belly laugh is this all for me, am I dreaming, is this truly my new household, is this truly traveling to last everlastingly? The reply would be, yes David this is all for you, this is your new household and it will be everlastingly!
